What is Cemimax A2000 Adhesive?

CEMIMAX A2000 is a semi-pressure sensitive universal dispersion adhesive for all common floor covering types. It provides a short open time and a long working time and can be used with the pressure sensitive, wet set and double drop bonding methods. A2000 is suitable for floors and walls in interior areas.

Installation

How Cemimax A2000 Adhesive is applied

Subfloor preparation

The subfloor must be sound, load bearing, level, dry and clean. It must be free from cracks and from any material that would impair adhesion such as dirt, oil or grease. The surface must be vacuumed, primed and levelled thoroughly. Allow primers and smoothing compounds to dry thoroughly before applying the adhesive.

How to apply

Stir the product thoroughly before use. Apply evenly on the substrate using an A2 or A3 toothed trowel. After an open time of 5 to 30 minutes, lay the flooring material. Rub the surface with a wood plate or roll with a roller to remove entrapped air and make sure the adhesive has transferred to the back of the flooring material. The adhesive dries after 24 hours and is set to foot traffic after 48 hours. Application temperature should not be lower than 5°C.

System integration

CEMIMAX A2000 is applied over Cemimax primers and smoothing compounds once these have dried thoroughly, bonding floor coverings as the final installation layer. It is suitable for use on warm water underfloor heating systems. Refer to the data sheets of the primer and smoothing compound used.
